Display Characteristics and Visibility

The HMI-L2P features a high-contrast monochrome LCD for clear readability. LED backlighting ensures consistent visibility in low-light conditions. The display shows up to 12 lines of text or graphic elements simultaneously. Consequently, operators can monitor multiple process values without scrolling.

Keypad Design and User Input

This operator interface uses a durable membrane keypad with tactile response. Twenty-four keys include numeric entry and navigation controls. Eight dedicated function keys provide one-touch access to critical screens. The keypad withstands over one million actuations without failure.

Communication Capabilities

The HMI-L2P supports multiple protocols for PLC connectivity. RS-232 ports connect to GE, Allen-Bradley, and Modicon controllers directly. The RS-485 port enables multi-drop networking with up to 32 devices. Use the USB port for fast program uploads and configuration backups.

Memory and Data Storage

This operator interface includes non-volatile flash memory for screen storage. The memory retains all application pages during complete power loss. It holds up to 250 unique display screens in its internal storage. No battery backup is necessary for screen or data retention.

Energy Storage and Power Interruption

The HMI-L2P contains internal capacitors for brief power ride-through. These capacitors maintain operation for up to 50 milliseconds during voltage dips. The unit performs an orderly shutdown during extended power interruptions. No lithium battery exists on this device for data retention.

Installation and Mounting

Mount the HMI-L2P into a standard panel cutout using the included clips. Apply the supplied gasket to achieve NEMA 4X water resistance at the front. Connect the 24V DC power supply to the rear terminal block. Download your application via USB before placing the unit into service.
