Functional Architecture and Data Organization
This memory module plugs directly into the CNC main board socket. It stores part programs, tool offsets, and pitch error compensation data. You can read and write data during normal machine operation. Moreover, the module includes a replaceable lithium battery for backup. This component retains all data when the CNC powers down. Installation and Operational Guidelines
The GE A20B-2900-0450/03B consumes 300 mA at 5V DC during access. It draws only 5 µA from the battery in standby mode. You must replace the battery every 5 years as preventive maintenance. Always power down the CNC before removing or installing this module. This practice prevents data corruption during insertion. Furthermore, the module supports memory expansion for large part programs. This feature allows DNC drip-feeding for complex 3D machining.
