Engineered for GE Series 90-30 Small-Scale Systems

This rack provides mounting and backplane connectivity for PLC modules. It supports the GE IC693CHS391G base unit in compact control systems. You will find this rack in smaller Series 90-30 installations. Unlike ten-slot racks, this compact version holds five modules. It accommodates a power supply, CPU, and up to three I/O modules.

Technical Specifications & Physical Dimensions

We designed this rack for space-constrained automation applications. The table below presents all verified technical specifications.

Functional Architecture and Bus Distribution

This rack uses a passive backplane for inter-module communication. It distributes power from the supply module to all other slots. You must install the power supply in the leftmost slot. Moreover, the rack includes a built-in expansion bus connector. This component allows connection to additional expansion racks. Consequently, the system grows from 5 slots to over 20 slots total.

Installation and Operational Guidelines

The GE IC693CHS391G requires no separate backplane connectors. It comes pre-assembled with all internal bus wiring. You must mount the rack on a flat, grounded metal surface. Always leave 100mm clearance above for module removal. This practice allows easy access to all five module slots. Furthermore, the rack includes a grounding lug for panel connection. This feature reduces electrical noise interference with sensitive analog modules.

Physical Characteristics and Environmental Limits

This rack has a rugged, powder-coated steel chassis with plastic slot guides. Its substantial 1.45 kg weight reflects the industrial-grade construction. The layout follows GE standard Series 90-30 specifications. Therefore, it mounts directly to a backplate or inside a control cabinet. The rack includes labeling for each module slot position. In addition, it maintains stable operation between 0°C and 60°C ambient temperature. You can store this unit safely between -40°C and 85°C.
