The GE DS200DACAG1A DS200DACAG1ACD transforms field analog signals into digital data. This board handles multiple input types from plant transmitters and sensors. Therefore, it enables precise monitoring of temperatures, pressures, and flows.
Product Overview
We engineered this converter board for industrial environments with electrical noise. Its differential inputs reject common-mode interference from nearby drives. Moreover, this unit provides diagnostics for each channel to identify wiring faults.

Analog Front-End Design
The GE DS200DACAG1A DS200DACAG1ACD uses an instrumentation amplifier on each input. This topology provides excellent common-mode rejection of 80 dB minimum. Additionally, a low-pass filter removes frequencies above 100 Hz. You get clean measurements even with variable frequency drives nearby.
Energy Storage Components
Fourteen ceramic capacitors decouple power to each analog section individually. Three tantalum capacitors maintain the ADC voltage reference with minimal drift. Stable reference voltage ensures consistent readings across temperature changes. Consequently, this board performs well without frequent recalibration.
Input Channel Management
Software configuration replaces physical jumpers on this revision. Write to the configuration register to set each channel’s mode. A value of 0 selects voltage mode with ±10V range. Value 1 selects 4-20 mA current mode with loop power detection
Installation Procedure
Power down the rack completely before inserting this converter board. Align the GE DS200DACAG1A DS200DACAG1ACD with its card guides. Push the board straight in until the ejector tabs engage fully. Then tighten both retaining screws to secure the connection. Connect field wiring after installation using the marked terminal blocks.
Loop Power Configuration
This board provides 24V loop power for two-wire transmitters. Enable loop power through software on channels 1 through 8 only. Each channel delivers up to 25 mA at 24V DC for transmitter operation. Disable loop power when connecting active 4-20 mA sources. Using loop power with an active source will damage the input circuit.
Fault Detection Features
Each channel includes open-wire and short-circuit detection. An open wire in 4-20 mA mode reads below 1 mA. A short circuit reads above 25 mA and disables the loop power. The GE DS200DACAG1A DS200DACAG1ACD reports these faults through the backplane. You can monitor fault status in the Mark V diagnostic display.
