The FC-PDIO01 offers 16 configurable digital channels for the Honeywell Safety Manager platform. Each channel functions as either a safety input or a safety output based on application requirements. This versatile design reduces the number of spare modules needed in inventory. Consequently, the module simplifies system configuration and minimizes engineering effort.

Safety Input and Output Specifications

As inputs, the FC-PDIO01 accepts 24 VDC signals from field devices with 2 ms response time. As outputs, the module delivers 24 VDC at 0.5 A per channel for actuator control. The module supports both dry contact and voltage-sourced input types for maximum flexibility. It also features hardware input filtering to reject electrical noise and contact bounce. The outputs incorporate overcurrent and short-circuit protection for reliable operation.

Diagnostic and Monitoring Capabilities

The FC-PDIO01 continuously monitors each channel for open-circuit and short-circuit fault conditions. This diagnostic coverage ensures the module meets SIL 3 requirements per IEC 61508 standards. The module also provides field power monitoring to detect undervoltage situations. Moreover, it delivers diagnostic data through the backplane interface for system-level analysis.
