Internal Design and Per-Channel Isolation

This input module uses eight independent optocouplers for per-channel isolation. Each optocoupler protects the backplane from field device surges. The GE IC200MDL243A provides 1500 V RMS isolation between channels as well. A fixed 1 ms filter debounces switch contacts and rejects electrical noise. The module stores no input states after power loss. Consequently, the CPU reads fresh input values during each scan cycle. Green LEDs on the front panel show the real-time status of all 8 channels.

Installation and Wiring Guide

First, mount this module onto a standard 35 mm DIN rail securely. Next, connect your 24 V DC supply common to the return terminal. Then, wire your sensor outputs to the 8 input pins (channels 1-8). Each input accepts signals from proximity switches, limit switches, or push buttons. Use shielded cables for long sensor runs exceeding 30 meters. The module automatically maps inputs to the CPU’s process image table. Green LEDs illuminate when the corresponding input energizes.
