Detailed Feature Overview
This module provides 32 digital input channels in a single slot. Each channel uses an optocoupler for electrical isolation from the field. Consequently, electrical noise does not affect your control logic.
A 220 µF capacitor filters input signals for stable debouncing. You can select three input delays: 0.5 ms, 3 ms, or 6 ms. Shorter delays suit fast counting applications, while longer delays reject contact bounce.
You will find 32 green status LEDs across the front panel. These LEDs illuminate when the corresponding input detects a high signal. The 48-pin front connector accepts standard S5 wiring cables.
Installation and Compatibility
Siemens 6ES5436-6AA11 fits any S5 rack slot except the CPU position. Use the 48-pin front connector 6ES5497-4UB31 for field wiring. Connect 24 V DC sensors to the appropriate input pins carefully.
