Product Overview
The DTA 112 converts baseband signals to higher frequency outputs. You will find this PCI card in test equipment and communication systems. It accepts analog I/Q inputs from a baseband generator. Furthermore, this card upconverts those signals to the L-band range. Therefore, it enables direct connection to satellite modems or receivers.
Technical Specifications
The table below lists all key parameters for this modulator upconverter PCI card.
| Parameter | Value / Description |
|---|---|

| Baseband Input | One 9-pin D-sub for I/Q signals |
| LO Input | One SMA female for external reference |
| Onboard Components | 22 resistors, 18 capacitors, 6 inductors, 2 mixers, 1 PLL |
| Energy Storage | None (no electrolytic capacitors) |
| Operating Voltage | 5V DC ±5% (from PCI bus) |
| Current Draw | 0.5 A maximum from +5V rail |
| Output Frequency Range | 950 MHz to 2150 MHz |
| Input IF Frequency | 70 MHz or 140 MHz (selectable) |
| Output Power | -10 dBm to +5 dBm (adjustable) |
| Phase Noise | -85 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz offset |
| Mounting | PCI bracket with one slot cover |
The DTA 112 stores no energy internally at any time. Therefore, you can insert or remove this card without discharge delays. Use the SMA connector for all RF output cabling. Meanwhile, the 9-pin D-sub accepts differential I/Q baseband inputs.
Installation and Compatibility
You can install this card into any 5V-only PCI slot. Insert the DTA 112 carefully into the slot until the bracket seats. Then connect the RF output to your spectrum analyzer or modem. Always apply a 50 ohm termination to unused SMA ports.
The card requires a stable external LO reference at 10 MHz. It automatically locks the internal PLL to this reference. The DTA 112 replaces older DTA 100 series upconverters without driver changes.
Environmental and Safety Data
The DTA 112 operates from 0°C to +50°C. It requires passive airflow inside the PC chassis. The component side has no conformal coating. Consequently, you should keep this card away from moisture. Avoid touching the gold PCI edge connector with bare hands.
