High-Capacity Power Conversion for Safety Systems

The FC-TPSU-2430 converts an AC mains input into a regulated 24 VDC output for Honeywell Safety Manager and Experion PKS systems. This power supply delivers 30 A of continuous output current, providing ample power for large I/O configurations. It accepts a universal input range of 85–264 VAC or 120–370 VDC. Consequently, the module supports global deployment without requiring voltage selection switches.

Advanced Protection and Power Quality

The FC-TPSU-2430 incorporates active power factor correction (PFC) to maintain a power factor above 0.95. This feature minimizes harmonic distortion and reduces the load on facility electrical distribution systems. The module includes comprehensive protection against overvoltage, overcurrent, short circuits, and overtemperature conditions. Additionally, a built-in DC OK relay contact provides remote status monitoring for the host system . The unit also features parallel operation capability for redundancy or increased capacity.

Thermal Management and Physical Design

The FC-TPSU-2430 employs a forced-air cooling system with a temperature-controlled variable-speed fan. This fan operates quietly at low loads and accelerates as internal temperatures rise. The module’s metal housing provides excellent heat dissipation and electromagnetic shielding. Front-facing LED indicators display power status, fault conditions, and fan operation. The unit mounts on a 35 mm DIN rail for simplified installation.
