Configurable I/O for Versatile Applications

The FC-PUIO01 provides 16 configurable digital I/O channels for the Honeywell Safety Manager platform. Each channel independently operates as either an input or an output based on software configuration. This flexibility eliminates the need for separate input and output modules in many applications. Consequently, the module reduces spare parts inventory and simplifies system design.

Input and Output Specifications

The FC-PUIO01 accepts 24 VDC inputs with a wide operating range of 10–30 VDC . As outputs, the module delivers 24 VDC signals at 0.5 A per channel . The module automatically detects field wiring conditions and reports open circuits and short circuits. Moreover, it provides hardware debouncing for inputs and short-circuit protection for outputs . The module also includes per-channel LED indicators for real-time status visualization.

Smart Diagnostics and Power Distribution

The FC-PUIO01 performs continuous self-diagnostics to monitor internal health and field connection integrity. This module also distributes power to field devices through a dedicated 24 VDC field supply input . An onboard fuse protects the field power distribution against overcurrent events . The module generates diagnostic data that the host controller can access for predictive maintenance . Furthermore, the module supports hot-swap replacement without powering down the entire chassis.
