Internal Design and Servo Control Processing

This servo drive board uses a DSP for real-time torque and velocity loops. An FPGA manages PWM generation and encoder feedback decoding. The GE A20B-0009-053 outputs six gate drive signals for external IGBT modules. Two analog inputs measure current feedback from sensors in the drive. The board implements PID control with feedforward compensation for precise motion. Consequently, this board provides accurate servo control for single-axis CNC applications.

Installation and Wiring Guide

First, mount this servo drive board onto standoffs inside your CNC cabinet. Next, connect 5 V DC and 24 V DC power supplies to the designated terminals. Then, wire the gate drive outputs to your external IGBT power module. Connect the encoder feedback cable to the 15-pin SUB-D port securely. Use shielded twisted-pair cables for all analog feedback signals. The board provides LED indicators for power, enable status, and fault conditions. Three status LEDs show real-time operating conditions. This servo drive board works with GE Fanuc CNC systems and compatible IGBT power modules. Always verify gate drive voltages match your IGBT specifications before operation.
