Physical Design and Mounting

This drive measures 200 mm in width and 320 mm in height. Its depth reaches 180 mm, requiring deep cabinet clearance. The unit weighs 5.2 kg due to the reinforced heatsink assembly. Four M5 screws secure the drive to a backplate vertically.

Internal Power Architecture and Energy Storage

Three hundred twelve components populate the main and gate driver boards. A 5600 µF capacitor bank stores DC bus energy for peak torque demands. Consequently, the drive delivers 30 A for up to one second during acceleration. This bank also smooths rectified AC voltage into stable DC. Six IGBT modules switch the output stages at 8 kHz frequency.

Control and Feedback Interface

A 50-pin ribbon cable carries velocity commands and enable signals from the CNC. The CN1 connector also handles alarm outputs and reset controls separately. A 20-pin CN2 connector receives encoder feedback from the motor. Therefore, the drive closes the position loop accurately within 0.5 milliseconds. You can also connect a separate regenerative resistor to the TB1 terminal.

Thermal Management and Protection

An internal fan moves 65 cubic feet of air per minute across the heatsink. This airflow keeps IGBT junction temperatures below 85°C at full load. Thermal switches will disable output if the heatsink exceeds 95°C. Additionally, the drive includes short-circuit and overcurrent protection on each phase.
