Physical Layout and Rack Mounting

This I/O module measures 180 mm in width and 140 mm in height. Its depth reaches 30 mm for standard CNC racks. The unit weighs 380 grams for straightforward insertion into any slot. Two ejector tabs secure the module firmly to the backplane.

Internal Circuitry and Energy Storage

One hundred seventy-six components populate this double-sided I/O board. Five 470 µF capacitors form a 2350 µF total energy storage bank. This bank filters incoming power and snubs inductive output switching. Consequently, the module operates reliably in electrically noisy factory environments. Each input includes a debounce circuit for mechanical switch contacts.

Input Configuration and Field Wiring

Sixteen sink-type inputs accept 24V DC signals from sensors and push buttons. Each input channel includes an optocoupler for bus-to-field isolation. A green LED illuminates when the input detects an active signal. Removable terminal blocks accept wires from 0.2 mm² to 1.5 mm² cross-section. You can wire NO or NC contacts without configuration changes.

Output Configuration and Protection

Sixteen sink-type outputs drive relays, solenoids, and indicator lamps. Each output handles 0.5 amps continuously at 24V DC. Short-circuit protection shuts down an individual output within 100 microseconds. Over-temperature protection reduces current limit when internal temperature exceeds 85°C. Red LEDs show the on-off state of each output point for easy troubleshooting.
