Technical Specifications and Hardware Overview

This output module provides reliable signal switching for GE Fanuc CNC systems. The GE A03B-0801-C112 controls external actuators, relays, and indicator lamps. You will find this unit inside many legacy machine tool cabinets. Its compact construction fits into standard I/O racks without modification. The module weighs approximately 0.65 kilograms. Its dimensions measure 25 cm in height, 8 cm in width, and 12 cm in depth.

Connectivity and Load Management

You connect field devices to the module via a front-panel screw terminal block. Each of the sixteen outputs drives a resistive or inductive load. The module draws its control power directly from the backplane. Consequently, you do not need any external logic supply. The output transistors switch rapidly for pulse-width modulation applications. Each point includes built-in flyback diode protection. This protection suppresses voltage spikes from inductive loads like relays or solenoids.

Installation and Operational Guidelines

You must mount this module in any available I/O slot of the CNC rack. The backplane provides 24V DC power for the output drivers. The GE A03B-0801-C112 stores no output states when you remove power. Therefore, your CNC controller must retain all critical output data. You should verify the total load current does not exceed 4 Amps. Exceeding this limit will trigger an overcurrent protection event. The module operates reliably between 0°C and 55°C ambient temperatures. Its transistor outputs respond within 0.5 milliseconds to control signals.
