Four hundred eighty-seven components populate the main CPU and I/O boards. Six 2200 µF capacitors create a total energy storage of 13200 µF. This large capacitor bank rides through 50-millisecond power sags without resetting. Consequently, the controller avoids program interruptions during brief line voltage drops. The main processor coordinates all motion, logic, and communication tasks simultaneously.
Control Interfaces and Programming
Two RS-232 ports connect to programming terminals or external HMIs. One RS-422 port handles high-speed communication with remote I/O devices. An optional Ethernet port allows network connectivity for production monitoring. You can upload part programs through any of these serial links easily. The controller stores up to 512 KB of user data in onboard flash memory.
I/O Capacity and Field Wiring
The system supports up to 128 digital inputs for limit switches and sensors. It also drives 128 digital outputs for relays, contactors, and indicator lamps. Removable terminal blocks accept field wiring from 0.5 mm² to 2.5 mm². An internal fan moves 35 cubic feet of air per minute for cooling.
