3300 Series Single-Channel Differential Expansion Monitor
The 3300/45-02-02-03-00 provides precise differential expansion monitoring between rotor and stator in rotating machinery. This module measures the relative thermal growth between a turbine’s rotating shaft and its stationary casing. It processes input from two proximity probes and calculates the expansion difference continuously. The device then activates the appropriate relay outputs when the differential exceeds safe limits.

Differential Expansion Monitoring and Protection
This monitor continuously calculates the difference between two independent proximity probe inputs. It then triggers the alarm relay when the differential reaches the first threshold. Subsequently, the danger relay activates if the expansion gap reaches the critical limit. The module provides a buffered output representing the differential value for external systems. This device helps prevent costly rotor-stator contact during thermal transients.
Installation and Configuration
First, insert the 3300/45-02-02-03-00 into an available slot within the chassis. Next, connect both proximity probe cables to the designated input terminals. After that, apply +24 Vdc power and verify the OK LED illuminates. You can then configure the alarm setpoints using the front-panel adjustment potentiometers. Finally, set the appropriate time delay to prevent nuisance trips during startup.
Maintenance and Operational Integrity
This module retains all configuration data in non-volatile memory. Therefore, a power cycle will not erase your programmed settings. We recommend you perform periodic verification of both probe input channels. You should also inspect the terminal connections for any signs of loosening or corrosion.
