Signal Conditioning and Loop Isolation
The ABB Bailey NLIM01 provides a dedicated interface between field loops and control systems. This module conditions analog signals from field transmitters and sensors. It electrically isolates the control system from hazardous loop voltages. Therefore, the module protects sensitive electronics from surges and ground loops.

Internal Architecture and Signal Path
The NLIM01 contains three primary internal components for signal processing. One signal isolator breaks the electrical path between field and system. One DC-DC converter generates isolated power for the field loop. A small 100 µF capacitor filters high-frequency noise from the input signal. The ABB Bailey NLIM01 also includes an 8-pin screw terminal block for field wiring. Two status LEDs provide immediate visual feedback about module health.
Loop Configuration and Wiring Guidelines
Connect field transmitters to the top four terminals of the NLIM01. Wire the control system input to the bottom four terminals accordingly. Select active or passive output mode using the internal jumper setting. Apply 24 V DC power to the loop from an external supply. Use twisted-pair shielded cable for runs longer than 30 meters. The module provides 1500 V AC isolation for operator safety.
