Internal Design and Signal Processing

This input module uses eight optocouplers for electrical isolation from field devices. A bridge rectifier converts each AC input signal to DC for the optocoupler. The GE IC610MDL125B includes a fixed 10 ms filter for switch debouncing. This filter prevents false triggering from contact bounce or electrical noise. The module stores no input states after power loss. Consequently, the CPU reads fresh input values during each scan cycle. LEDs on the front panel show the real-time status of all 8 channels.

Installation and Wiring Guide

First, mount this module into any Series One rack slot. Next, connect your AC neutral wire to the common terminal (C). Then, wire your sensor outputs to the 8 input pins (I1 through I8). Each input accepts signals from limit switches, push buttons, or proximity sensors. Use a 1 A slow-blow fuse for external short circuit protection. The module requires no external power supply for the input circuits. This unit works with all GE Series One CPU models including IC610CPU101, IC610CPU104, and IC610CPU106.
