Physical Layout and DIN Rail Mounting
This power supply measures 130 mm in width and 110 mm in height. Its depth reaches 55 mm for standard VersaMax enclosures. The unit weighs 470 grams due to the internal transformer and heatsink. Four locking clips secure the module to the DIN rail without tools.
Internal Circuitry and Energy Storage
One hundred thirty-two components populate this switching power supply board. Three 1500 µF capacitors form a 4500 µF total energy storage bank. This bank holds enough charge to ride through 20 milliseconds of AC line dropout. Consequently, the VersaMax system continues operating during momentary power disturbances. A flyback converter topology provides isolation between input and output.
Input Configuration and Wiring
The module accepts universal AC input from 85V to 264V without jumpers. It also accepts DC input from 100V to 300V for battery-backed systems. A 5-pin terminal block provides AC line, neutral, ground, and DC output connections. You can wire solid or stranded conductors from 0.5 mm² to 2.5 mm². A green LED indicates when the output voltage is present and stable.
Protection Features and Output Capacity
Overload protection limits output current to 2.0A maximum. Overvoltage protection clamps the output at 28V to safeguard connected modules. Short-circuit protection shuts down the supply and auto-retries every 2 seconds. The unit delivers 1.5A continuously at 24V DC for most VersaMax configurations. Therefore, this supply powers a CPU plus up to eight I/O modules simultaneously.
