Output Stage Design

Use twisted shielded pair for all analog output connections. Connect the shield drain wire to terminal 9 at the module end. Leave the shield disconnected at the field device end for noise reduction. For current outputs, the loop power comes from the module itself. For voltage outputs, the receiving device should have high input impedance.
Diagnostic Features
The module reports an open circuit on current output channels. It detects this condition when the loop current falls below 2 mA. A short circuit on any output triggers a channel fault indication. The module limits output current to 30 mA during overload conditions. The PLC receives fault status through the backplane communication bus.
