Board Overview
This CRTC board generates video signals for CRT displays on GE CNC controls. You can install GE A20B-008-0430/03A directly into GE CNC system racks. The unit also interfaces with paper tape puncher/reader devices. It converts CNC data to video output and tape punch signals.

Board Layout and Components
The PCB places the CRT controller chip at the center of the board. A character generator ROM stores alphanumeric patterns for display. Moreover, 256 discrete components include video RAM and parallel interface circuits. Tantalum capacitors filter noise on all video signal lines. Consequently, the board produces stable, flicker-free display output.
Installation Process
You can mount GE A20B-008-0430/03A into any GE CNC system rack slot. The backplane connector supplies power and data from the CNC processor. Furthermore, front panel ports connect to CRT monitors and tape devices. DIP switches configure video format and tape interface parameters easily.
