Physical Dimensions and Mounting Specifications
The ABB Bailey INBTM01 manages automatic bus switching for redundant control networks. This module measures 140mm in height, 70mm in width, and 95mm in depth. You can mount this unit on a standard 35mm DIN rail inside any system cabinet. The module weighs 0.52 kilograms , so installation requires minimal structural support.
Internal Architecture and Component Density
The ABB Bailey INBTM01 contains 156 individual electronic components on its main PCB. Thirty-two surface-mount resistors and eighteen signal diodes populate the switching logic section. Four high-reliability relays handle the actual bus transfer operations. Six low-ESR electrolytic capacitors form the primary energy storage bank.
Energy Storage and Transfer Timing
This bus transfer module stores 36.4 joules across its six capacitor array. This energy reserve supports transfer completion for up to 55 milliseconds after primary bus failure. The storage also powers eight LED status indicators during diagnostic routines. Consequently, the module completes seamless bus switching without data corruption.

Interface and Connectivity Features
The ABB Bailey INBTM01 provides two 16-pin terminal blocks for primary and secondary bus connections. A single 20-pin IDC header links the module to the Bailey system backplane. You will also find one RS-485 diagnostic port for remote status monitoring. Each terminal accepts AWG 22 to AWG 14 copper wire for secure connections.
Bus Transfer Logic and Operation
This module monitors primary bus voltage continuously through its internal comparators. When voltage drops below 18V DC for 5ms , the unit initiates an automatic transfer. The four relays switch simultaneously to minimize bus interruption time. You can configure the return delay from 1 to 60 seconds for automatic re-transfer.
Diagnostic and Status Indication
Eight bi-color LEDs provide immediate visual feedback for system status. Green indicates normal operation on the primary bus connection. Amber signals that the module operates on the secondary bus. Flashing red alerts you to a relay failure or wiring fault. Furthermore, the RS-485 port streams real-time diagnostic data to a host controller.
Environmental Specifications and Compliance
The ABB Bailey INBTM01 operates reliably from -20°C to +60°C ambient temperature. You can store the unit between -40°C and +85°C without performance degradation. Non-condensing humidity tolerance spans 5% to 95% for harsh industrial environments. This module meets UL 508 and CSA C22.2 safety standards for control equipment.
