Module Overview
This network module bridges VMEbus controllers to standard Ethernet networks. You can install ABB Bailey IIVTE01 directly into any VME rack slot of INFI 90 systems. The unit converts plant data between TCP/IP protocols and proprietary Bailey formats. It enables connectivity to higher-level management information systems.

Board Layout and Components
The PCB places the Ethernet controller on one side of the board. A 32-bit RISC processor handles protocol conversion tasks independently. Moreover, 312 discrete components include memory chips and bus interface logic. Tantalum capacitors provide stable power for all onboard processors. Consequently, the module converts data without slowing the main VMEbus.
Installation Process
You can mount ABB Bailey IIVTE01 into any standard VMEbus rack slot. The backplane connectors supply power and provide access to VMEbus signals. Furthermore, the front panel RJ-45 port connects to plant Ethernet switches. Configuration software sets IP addresses and data mapping parameters easily.
