Physical Characteristics and Installation

This communication interface weighs approximately 0.40 kg for secure chassis mounting. Its dimensions measure 160 mm x 120 mm x 45 mm for compact cabinet fit. First, mount the 200-CISB onto a DIN rail or backplate. Then, attach your I/O modules to the right side of the interface. Finally, connect the PROFIBUS cable to the DB-9 port. Rotary switches on the front panel set the node address from 0 to 99.

Communication Protocol and Network Capabilities

The 200-CISB functions as a PROFIBUS DP slave device on the fieldbus network. This interface auto-detects transmission rates from 9.6 kbps up to 12 Mbps. The maximum cable length reaches 1,200 meters at the lowest baud rate. Shorter cables support higher speeds reliably. Consequently, you can place I/O racks far from the main controller.

Power Requirements and System Integration

This communication interface requires an external 24V DC power supply for operation. The unit draws a maximum of 200 mA under full load. The 200-CISB distributes power to all connected I/O slots automatically. You do not need separate power supplies for each module. This interface supports up to 8 I/O modules per rack. LED indicators show network status, data exchange, and diagnostic information.
