Functional Architecture and Output Protection

This module connects to field actuators via a front connector. It uses sixteen power MOSFETs for fast and efficient switching. You can wire each output to loads with individual commons. Consequently, the board survives short circuits without permanent damage.

Installation and Operational Guidelines

The ABB Bailey IMDSO05 consumes 120 mA at 24V DC for logic power. It updates outputs every 1 millisecond from the backplane. You must connect a common return wire for each output group. Always use external fuses for circuits above 0.5 Amps. This practice protects the module from sustained overloads. Furthermore, the module includes watchdogs for fail-safe operation. This feature forces outputs to a safe state if communication fails.

Physical Characteristics and Environmental Limits

This output module has a rugged, industrial-grade plastic housing. Its moderate 0.56 kg weight allows for easy rack installation. The layout follows ABB Bailey standard INFI 90 specifications.
