Internal Design and Backplane Architecture

This expansion subrack uses a passive backplane PCB for signal distribution. Six slot connectors link each module to the internal expansion bus. The ABB 07 BE 60 R1 receives power and communication from the main subrack. A 20-pin expansion connector accepts a ribbon cable to the CPU subrack. Installation and Connection Guide

First, mount this subrack onto a panel using four M6 screws. Next, install your power supply module into the leftmost slot of the subrack. Then, insert I/O modules into the remaining slots as needed. Connect the 20-pin ribbon cable between this subrack and the CPU subrack. Use the shortest possible cable length for reliable communication (maximum 10 meters). Connect the M4 grounding stud to your system’s earth ground for safety. This expansion subrack works with ABB Advant controllers and S100 I/O modules. Always terminate unused expansion connectors with the provided protective cover.
