Internal Design and Communication Processing
This communications module uses a 16-bit CPU for protocol handling and buffering. Two UARTs manage simultaneous communication on both serial ports. Installation and Configuration Guide
First, mount this module into any Series 90-30 rack slot. Next, connect your serial devices to the 15-pin SUB-D ports using shielded cables. Then, configure each port’s baud rate and protocol using the PLC programming software. Use RS232 for short-distance connections up to 15 meters. Use RS422/485 for long-distance networks up to 1200 meters. The module automatically buffers incoming messages for the CPU. Six LED indicators show power, OK status, port activity, and fault conditions. This communications module works with all Series 90-30 CPU models including 311, 331, 341, 363, and 364. Always terminate the RS422/485 line with proper resistors for long cable runs.
