This hand held monitor provides on-site diagnostics for Genius distributed I/O networks. It connects directly to any device on the Genius bus without software. You can use this tool to troubleshoot field wiring or module faults quickly.

This monitor measures 110 mm in width and 210 mm in height. Its depth reaches 45 mm for a comfortable hand grip. The unit weighs 540 grams with the coiled cable attached. A belt clip allows hands-free carrying during panel walkdowns.

Internal Electronics and Power Source

Ninety-four components populate this portable diagnostic tool. Two AA alkaline batteries provide 3V of onboard energy storage. This battery set delivers approximately 40 hours of continuous field use. Consequently, you can complete multiple shift inspections before replacing cells. The LCD backlight turns off automatically after 30 seconds to conserve power.

Connection Method and Bus Access

A 2-meter coiled cable terminates in a Genius LAN tap connector. You can plug this tap into any device’s bus port without interrupting network traffic. The monitor then displays device status, I/O values, and fault messages directly. Therefore, you do not need a laptop or programming software for basic diagnostics.

Diagnostic Functions and Display Features

The 2-line by 16-character LCD shows module health and circuit readings clearly. You can force outputs on or off to test field actuator wiring. The monitor also displays bus traffic statistics and node addresses. Press the scroll button to cycle through all 32 possible device addresses. An audible beeper confirms key presses and alerts you to active fault conditions.
