GE A20B-2900-0293/06B adds 512 kB of non-volatile storage to your CNC system. This capacity holds hundreds of part programs and macro routines. The module uses static RAM technology for fast read and write access. A lithium battery preserves all data when the CNC powers down. Consequently, you never lose programs or offsets during shutdowns.

Eight memory chips provide the 512 kB storage array. Two address decoder ICs manage memory mapping within the CNC address space. Four 100 µF capacitors filter electrical noise from the power supply. These capacitors also provide 10 seconds of hold-up time during battery changes. Therefore, you can replace the battery without losing stored data.

Write Protection and Data Security

A hardware jumper prevents accidental program overwrites or deletions. Install the jumper to enable write protection for critical data. Remove the jumper to allow normal program saving and editing. The module also includes a low-battery warning LED. This amber light alerts you when battery voltage drops below 2.7 V.
