Internal Design and Servo Control

This servo drive uses a high-power IGBT module for motor control. A DSP executes vector control algorithms at 8 kHz switching frequency. The ABB 3HAB8101-8/14C accepts position and torque commands via CAN bus. Three current sensors provide real-time feedback for precise torque regulation. Three 3300 µF capacitors store energy for peak torque demands. Consequently, this drive delivers smooth motion for single-axis robot applications.

Installation and Wiring Guide

First, mount this drive vertically inside a ventilated control cabinet. Next, connect 3-phase AC power to the L1, L2, and L3 terminals. Then, wire the servo motor cables to U, V, and W output terminals. Connect the encoder or resolver feedback cable to the appropriate port. Use shielded cables for all feedback and control signal wiring. The drive requires at least 150 mm clearance for proper air circulation. Five LED indicators show power, run, fault, comms, and enable status. This servo drive works with ABB robots and compatible servo motors. Always install an external circuit breaker and line filter for overcurrent protection.
