Technical Specifications and Module Design

This relay output extension module adds discrete switching capacity for ABB Advant AC31 systems. The ABB 1SBP260109R1001 drives solenoids, contactors, and motor starters reliably. You can mount this module directly onto a standard DIN rail in your cabinet. Its compact design connects to the side of a basic controller or other extension. The module weighs approximately 0.24 kilograms. Its dimensions measure 11 cm in height, 7 cm in width, and 6 cm in depth.

Output Configuration and Load Handling

Each of the eight relays provides a normally open contact set. You can wire each output to control AC or DC loads freely. The ABB 1SBP260109R1001 switches resistive loads like heaters and lamps efficiently. It also handles inductive loads like solenoids and small motor starters. Each relay includes a suppression diode across the coil for protection. This diode prevents voltage spikes from damaging the driver circuits. The module provides a red LED for each output individually. This LED illuminates when the controller energizes the corresponding relay coil.

System Integration and Addressing

You connect this module directly to the side of an AC31 basic controller. The module automatically receives power and communication through the side connector. The ABB 1SBP260109R1001 does not require any external wiring for bus communication. The controller automatically assigns I/O addresses to this extension module. You can connect up to seven extension modules to a single controller. The module occupies a contiguous block in the I/O address space. No DIP switches or configuration tools are necessary for operation.

Installation and Operational Guidelines

You must clip this module onto the DIN rail before connecting to adjacent modules. The side connector must align properly with the neighboring unit. The ABB 1SBP260109R1001 draws its power from the controller through the bus. It requires no separate external power supply for operation. You should verify the total load current does not exceed 5 Amps per contact. The module stores no output states when you remove system power. Therefore, all relays return to the normally open position after power-up. The operating temperature ranges from -20°C to +55°C.
