Strengthening Global EPC Collaboration
Yokogawa Electric Corporation has announced that its subsidiary, Yokogawa China, has signed a memorandum of cooperation (MoC) with Sinopec Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (SEG). This agreement establishes a strategic partnership focused on engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects worldwide.
The collaboration aims to combine SEG’s engineering excellence with Yokogawa’s proven industrial automation and control systems expertise. Together, both companies will pursue integrated project execution to support large-scale energy and petrochemical facilities.

Yokogawa and Sinopec Engineering Partner to Advance Global EPC and Industrial Automation Projects
Building on a History of Cooperation
Yokogawa China and SEG have previously worked together on numerous refining and ethylene projects across China. The new MoC expands this successful cooperation to the international stage. It provides a structured framework for joint EPC contracting that enhances factory automation capabilities and ensures consistent project quality.
Moreover, this partnership reflects the growing trend of cross-border cooperation in the process automation industry. As global energy demand evolves, companies are increasingly seeking technology partners with both local execution strength and international project experience.
Leveraging Advanced Control and Safety Systems
Under the new agreement, Yokogawa will supply DCS, PLC, and safety instrumented systems (SIS) for SEG’s upcoming EPC projects. In addition, Yokogawa will provide advanced project management, engineering support, and lifecycle services to optimize plant performance.
By integrating Yokogawa’s CENTUM VP control platform and ProSafe-RS safety systems, SEG can achieve higher levels of operational reliability and automation. These technologies will enable customers to meet strict safety, energy efficiency, and environmental requirements in both domestic and overseas facilities.
Industry Authority and Strategic Insights
SEG, a core company of the Sinopec Group, ranks among the world’s largest petrochemical engineering firms. It designs and constructs refineries and petrochemical complexes across Asia, the Middle East, and other global markets.
According to Kunimasa Shigeno, President and CEO of Yokogawa Electric, “It was an honor to visit SEG’s headquarters and witness this strategic milestone. Through this partnership, we aim to deliver successful projects for our shared customers in China and beyond.”
From an industry standpoint, this collaboration reinforces Yokogawa’s position as a global leader in industrial automation solutions, particularly within complex EPC environments. It also demonstrates Sinopec Engineering’s confidence in Yokogawa’s project execution, control technology, and service reliability.
